Guide and FAQ
What you need in your first hours in the game, plus the questions we get asked most.
First steps
- Create an account on the sign-up page and install the client.
- Log in, pick the server and create a character. You choose the gear (B, M, A or I) here and can't change it later, but one account can hold several characters.
- Do the first missions. They teach flying, shooting and landing, and give you your first equipment.
- At the level the mission tells you, you choose a nation: BCU or ANI. It decides your allies, your capital and your side in every war.
- Join a brigade (guild). Formations, help in wars and people who already know the game make everything easier.
Nations
Atum is split between two nations. Both play the same; the difference is who flies next to you in a war.
BCU
Bygeniou City UnitedA federation of order and technology, centred on the city of Bygeniou.
ANI
Arlington National InfluenceThe independent nation of Arlington, built on resistance.
- Nation war: outposts, strategic points and mothership battles give your nation bonuses and territory.
- You chat, trade and party only with your own nation. Outside safe zones the other nation is always hostile.
- Balance matters. We watch the numbers on the rankings page during the beta, and joining the smaller side helps everyone.
Gear types
B-Gear · Bomber
All-rounder. Good speed and armour, strong bombs against ground targets and monsters. The easiest gear to learn.
M-Gear · Multi-role
Support. Heals and repairs allies, gives shields, buffs and debuffs. Weak alone, very valuable in a party or a war formation.
A-Gear · Armored
A heavy unit that walks on the ground. Very high HP and defence; in siege mode it fires long-range artillery. Slow, but holds a line.
I-Gear · Interceptor
Speed and agility. High evasion and burst damage, made for dogfights and hunting. It does not forgive mistakes, your own included.
Not sure? Start with B-Gear. If you want to be invited to every party, play M-Gear.
Controls
Default keys. Most of them can be changed in the in-game options.
F10: second password (PIN)
Press F10 in game to set a second password. While it is locked, nobody who logs into your account can trade, sell, drop or destroy your items, even if your login password leaks.
- Set it right after you create your first character.
- Unlock it with F10 when you want to trade, and lock it again afterwards.
- Don't use your login password as the PIN. Staff will never ask for it.
Chat
Scrolling the chat: first press T, then use the mouse wheel.
Press Enter to type and Enter again to send. The chat tabs switch between all, nation, party and brigade messages.
Tips
- Watch your fuel (EP) and repair before long trips. Running dry far from a city is painful.
- The booster gauge empties fast. Use Space to escape or close in, not all the time.
- Land with C in a city to reach shops and NPCs.
- Party up for missions: shared XP and an M-Gear make levelling much faster.
- The beta changes often. Read the patch notes after each maintenance.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. During the closed beta everything is free.
Will my progress be kept after the beta?
No. Characters and items will be wiped at launch; your account (name, password, e-mail) stays. Beta credits do not carry over and are not refunded. Beta players will probably get a thank-you gift; details come before launch.
How do I get an invite code?
Join our Discord and follow the instructions in the beta channel.
I forgot my password.
Use Forgot password on the login page: a reset link goes to the e-mail on your account. No e-mail on the account? Write to support [at] acerivals.com or to a staff member on Discord and be ready to show that the account is yours.
Which nation should I choose?
Either. Balance between BCU and ANI is one of the things we test, so the smaller side is always welcome.
What are the rates?
Beta rates can change between test rounds. The current values are posted in the news.
Can I play on Mac or Linux?
Not officially. Wine or CrossOver may work, but we can only help with Windows.
Is there a cash shop?
The in-game shop is open for testing. Beta credits are given out for free through the credit request page; nothing is sold. A problem with a credit request or your account balance? Write to support [at] acerivals.com.
I found a bug or an exploit.
Report it with the template on the bug report page. Send exploits to staff privately, never in a public channel.
